Caboodle logo with the tagline ‘reward. engage. innovate.’ – UK provider of employee benefits including Cycle to Work schemes and salary sacrifice solutions

What Is the Caboodle Cycle to Work Scheme?

The Caboodle Cycle to Work Scheme is a salary sacrifice programme that allows employees to spread the cost of a new bicycle (or electric bike) and approved accessories over 12 to 18 months. Payments are deducted from gross salary, resulting in savings of up to 42% thanks to reductions in Income Tax and National Insurance.

Caboodle’s platform integrates seamlessly with employer HR systems, making it a preferred choice for mid-size to large businesses seeking automated employee benefits management.

How the Scheme Works

Using the Caboodle Cycle to Work Scheme is a streamlined process:

1. Confirm that your employer is enrolled in the Caboodle employee benefits platform.

2. Select your commuter bike -or any eligible electric bike- and any required accessories from an approved retailer like Glide & Gear

3. Submit a quote through your workplace’s Caboodle portal.

4. Once approved, you receive a voucher to redeem your chosen products. 5. Begin cycling while repaying the cost monthly through pre-tax salary deductions.

At the end of the hire period, you may be offered the option to extend the hire or purchase the bike at its fair market value.

Who Can Apply?

Any UK employee can apply, provided their employer is registered with Caboodle and their salary remains above the National Minimum Wage after deductions. It is particularly popular with mid-sized firms and corporates looking to offer competitive staff benefits.

Are There Any Limits?

Caboodle does not apply universal spending limits, but your employer may define a cap for voucher values. Many organisations follow the £1,000 guideline, while others may allow higher amounts to accommodate electric bike or complete commuting kits. Be sure to verify your allowance through your HR team or benefits portal.

Important Considerations Before Applying

● The bike remains the property of your employer or scheme provider during the repayment period. Final ownership usually requires a nominal payment.

● Salary sacrifice may affect certain benefits like pension contributions or parental leave entitlements.

● Some product or brand limitations may apply depending on your employer’s setup.

● Application processing times depend on internal HR procedures and may vary across companies.

Why Many Customers Prefer Buying Directly from Glide & Gear

While Caboodle offers a structured way to save, many riders prefer the simplicity, control, and speed that come with buying directly from Glide & Gear. Here’s why:

1. Instant 5–7% Discount on the Non-Sale Price

At Glide & Gear, we offer a guaranteed 5–7% discount based on the original (non-sale) price of any commuter bike when you choose to buy directly, instead of using a Cycle to Work scheme. You get full control, faster checkout, and access to the exact model you want—without compromise or delay.

2. Immediate Ownership

3. No Product or Budget Restrictions

Choose any model or configuration without worrying about internal spending caps or platform constraints.

4. Priority Dispatch and Expert Assistance

We’ll help you choose the best electric bike for your commute and deliver it faster—no delays or hold-ups.

Then buying directly from Glide & Gear—with a guaranteed 5–7% discount on the non-sale price—is often the quicker and more flexible way to upgrade your commute. If you're still considering using Caboodle, you can find full details or check eligibility at www.caboodle-technology.co.uk.
