Warranty
We’re confident you’ll love your e-bike and won’t need to rely on your warranty. However, it’s reassuring to know that we’re here for you if something goes wrong. Every e-bike we sell is backed by a full warranty, though the duration varies by brand. For complete details, check the manufacturer’s website.
When your bike arrives, the user manual will include instructions for warranty registration, which is required by most brands. Be sure to register within four weeks of delivery to maintain your warranty coverage.
What’s Covered
The manufacturer's warranty typically covers essential mechanical and electrical components, such as the frame, forks, seat, motor, controller, battery, and charger.
Warranty coverage is conditional on proper bike maintenance and normal usage.
Exceptions
The following are not covered under warranty:
- Consumable items: tyres, inner tubes, chains, sprockets, brake pads, bearings, spokes, handlebar grips, and cables. These can be purchased from us by emailing info@glideandgear.co.uk.
- General wear and tear, corrosion, rust, hairline cracks, paint chips, and water damage.
- Damage caused by accidents, misuse, theft, or extreme activities such as jumping or competitions.
- Failures due to poor maintenance, overloading, improper assembly, modifications, or unauthorised accessories.
- Opening the battery case, which voids the battery warranty.
General Warranty Conditions
- All warranty repairs must be conducted by a mechanic approved by our team.
- Warranty includes replacement parts and shipping.
- Frame damage requires the entire bike (cleaned) or the frame to be sent to Bike Yard Online for inspection. Labour, delivery, and collection charges may apply.
- Seat posts must adhere to height limit marks. If no mark is visible, contact us for guidance.
- Repairs made using unauthorised parts or by non-approved mechanics will void the warranty.
- Damage from unauthorised components or disassembly beyond the user manual’s instructions is not covered.
- Tampering with the speed limiter (25 km/h or 15.5 mph) will void the warranty.
- Battery care instructions in the owner’s manual must be followed. Improper storage or charging will void the warranty.
General Maintenance
Regular servicing is essential for keeping your bike in top condition:
- First service: within six weeks, especially if you assembled parts yourself.
- Frequent riders: service every six months.
- Occasional riders: service at least once a year with an e-bike specialist.
For servicing guidance, contact us directly.
Keep your bike clean and well-lubricated, particularly if used off-road. Remove mud and sand from moving parts and apply a light lubricant before storage or further use, avoiding contact with brakes. Dirt build-up can cause damage and, in extreme cases, void the warranty.
Statutory Rights
The above does not affect your statutory rights.
