What is a full-throttle electric bike?
A full-throttle electric bike allows you to ride at speeds of up to 15.5 mph without pedalling. This feature provides faster acceleration, improved control at low speeds, and a more inclusive cycling experience for those who may need extra assistance.

How long does it take to receive a full-throttle Wisper eBike?
The certification process for a full-throttle Wisper eBike typically takes 2–8 weeks. This includes testing by the DVSA for Single Vehicle Approval and ensuring compliance with UK regulations. So please allow for an extended lead time if you choose the full throttle option.
How does using the throttle affect the eBike’s range?
Using the throttle can reduce the bike’s range significantly. For maximum efficiency, it’s best to use the throttle only when needed and rely on pedal assistance for longer rides.
What is the difference between hub-drive and mid-drive motors?
- Hub-Drive Motor:
Located in the front or rear wheel hub, this motor directly powers the wheel. Hub motors are quieter, require less maintenance, and are ideal for flat terrain and leisurely rides. - Mid-Drive Motor:
Positioned at the bike's centre, this motor powers the drivetrain. Mid-drive motors provide better balance, higher torque for climbing hills, and more efficient battery usage. They are preferred for challenging terrains and high-performance riding.
Can I use a Wisper full-throttle eBike outside the UK?
Yes, but it is your responsibility to ensure the bike complies with local regulations in your destination country. Glide & Gear offers re-restriction and de-restriction services for £55 to adjust your bike for international use. Please contact us at info@glideandgear.co.uk to enquire about this service.
Are all Wisper bikes compatible with the full-throttle option?
No, only specific models with front and rear lights operated by a single switch are eligible for full-throttle certification. Models like the Tailwind Trail, Tailwind City, and Wayfarer Mountain are not currently compatible, but updates are expected soon.

Does my new e-bike or scooter come with a warranty?
Yes, we stand behind our products. All products sold by us come with a minimum of 6 months manufacturer's warranty.

Note that warranties do not cover damage from negligence, non-original parts, or modifications. They also do not cover normal wear and tear.

Can I test ride my e-bike or e-scooter?
Absolutely! We are happy to provide test rides through our online shop! Buy the product on our website, test it for up to 14 days and if you choose to return it, ensure it's in 'as new' condition according to our returns policy.
